The Characters
The Warrior:
This is probably my least favorite charactor in the game. Why you ask when so many people choose to adventure with this daring brute? Because the warrior is a little too mediocre for my taste. While I will admit it is fun to play him up until lvl 14, before that it's fun and entertaining. However in the last 3 levels he becomes incredibly hard to play as, because his spell casting ability is not all that great, and because the monsters in hell tend to run around too much and the warrior has no good long range weapons. I only reccomend the Warrior to experienced adventurers who are ready for a big challenge in the end.
The Rogue:
The rogue is a good all around class, despite everyones complaints about "getting to hard down in hell". Whoever started that statement and passed it around is full of crap. The rogue really is a good character IF you know how to use her. The key element to winning with the rogue is too upgrade dex and magic lots and strength a little, then vitality comes in the middle. I like the rogue because she has a decent spellcasting ability and is able to hit all monsters in hell with some ease.
The Sorcerer\Wizard:
The Sorcerer (also reffered to as the wizard) is one of those waaaay to powerful characters that plague these type of games. While he is hard to play as in the earlier levels, his power is just TOO big in the later levels. I play as the wizard alot, but I still think that Blizzard made him too powerful.
The Monk: No picture available
The Monk is the extra class available in Hellfire. I found that while playing him he has a cool ability to hit two enemies at a time with his staff. This is a cool ability, but it isn't enough to make this a really "good" class. He has a good strength and dex max (about 150) but never gets really good in any of the stats too become a really awesome character. Although he is my favorite guy to use against the Defiler (the big boss of the hive) I still think that Sierra should've done better.
The Bard: Same skin as rogue
This is one of the "hidden characters" that HellFire has, and I only found how to get her at www.battlegrounds.com go to the hellfire info menu and hellfire secrets to find out all about her. I LOVE THIS CHARACTER. The identify skill is extrememly convient, and the stats are so good that I quickly got the feel of my surroundings and kicked some butt. After that I always used this character. It's worth a look, and I assure you, worth a second one too!
The Barbarian: Same skin as warrior
Also a hidden character in hellfire, the Barbarian sux. He has an incredible lack of magic (0 max!) and his skill sucks. Unfortunantly, the Barbarian just doesn't have enough to take the heat on the later levels. This class should be ignored. Oh yeah, the skill is called "rage".
